Common flowers, uncommon beauty

Still trying to let your brain catch up with your eyes?
Digital Artist and Photographer Joana Garrido has been involved in the visual effects of The Avengers, Iron Man, Star Trek, Transformers and such.
Her experimental side lets her create varied works of art like inexplicable photographs of flowers, paint in water, cool computer graphics of a skull and a butterfly. The artist recently shot a series of abstract photographs, cryptically titled “ʘ“. Each photograph from the series has been amplified and taken using a fish-eye lens, to interpret various flowers and plants. Garrido creates this condensed imagery so aesthetically that the resemblance to a marble is strikingly visible. Her work is often compared to astronomical photography for when you’re peering through the collection, you get to see these swirling, iridescent gases of some far off nebulae.
